As you may be aware, last week the 2022 World Economic Forum (or WEF) was confirmed to take place in its traditional Davos venue from 22nd-26th May 2022. With the event moved from its original winter timing to the start of summer it opens up a lot more opportunities to be more inventive with events and this alone brings added excitement to this years WEF. At Allow Me we are lucky to be based in the Klosters-Davos area, perfectly positioned to help with all your WEF arrangements.

The flagship event of the WEF is the invitation-only annual meeting held in the beautiful village of Davos, Switzerland, bringing together chief executive officers from its 1,000 member companies, as well as selected politicians, representatives from academia, NGOs, religious leaders, and the media in an alpine environment. This year’s meeting has the theme “working together, restoring trust” and has the focus of post-pandemic sustainable development and global cooperation.

We have helped many personal clients save money and time already – we organized a successful 30^th birthday party for a client at Badi Enge. We only had 4 weeks to find a venue and plan the party but what counted was the end result and the client was very happy! The whole party was also delivered under budget and with no stress to our client so she could enjoy her birthday party. Allow Me sorted the DJ, venue, drink, food, hotels for guests coming from out of town and the after party at Aura in Zurich on the VIP guest list – we also planned their recovery brunch on the Sunday at Terrasse!

One other event that Allow Me organized this winter was the “mini-moon” for Chalie and Dave in Verbier. They got married in Gstaad in March and then invited 25 friends to Verbier for a week. They were so lucky with the snow and we had powder almost every day. Allow Me planned every detail of a fun filled week. We organized everything from night sledging, lunch time meals, ski guides, private parties, massages, 5 * chalet for everyone to stay in and so much more. It was a very successful week and the last day finished with everyone dressed up in animal suits and skiing the Verbier 4 Valleys.

Summer in Switzerland

Allow Me has had a very busy winter and I also welcomed Harry to the family. He was born on the 8^th of January and has kept me very busy during the winter.

One event that Allow Me organized this winter was the “mini-moon” for Chalie and Dave in Verbier. They got married in Gstaad in March and then invited 25 friends to Verbier for a week. They were so lucky with the snow and we had powder almost every day. Allow Me planned every detail of a
fun filled week. We organized everything from night sledging, lunch time meals, ski guides, private parties, massages, 5 * chalet for everyone to stay in and so much more. It was a very successful week and the last day

With both Zurich and Zug surrounded by amazing countryside, why not explore the beautiful countryside on your bike. There are lots of lovely restaurants to have a relaxing meal and with lots of quiet cycle paths and country roads, it’s a great day out for the whole family. OPEN AIR CINEMAS

The open air cinemas normally start in July and go on till the end of August. You will find screens put up by the lake and if you have not been, it’s definitely worth a visit. The best screen to visit is the Salt Openair which will take place at the specially built open air cinema at the Zurichhorn in Zurich from 16th July to 16th August. Be warned, spaces can fill up fast, so it’s best to make a booking as soon as the schedule is announced.

BOAT TRIPS ON LAKE ZURICH AND LAKE ZUG

Both lake Zurich and lake Zug have amazing cruises where you can enjoy a leisurely boat ride and enjoy the countryside, stopping off at various points along the lake or just go on a lunch cruise and enjoy your trip in style. This is a great trip for visiting guests (especially those with mobility issues) or a nice family day out.

BADI TIME!

One of the best things about living in Switzerland in the summer has to be swimming in the “Badis” (the outdoor pools). Not only are there plenty of badis to choose from but they are all slightly different. Some offer snacks and drinks, live music and DJ’s, and others are a bit more family friendly. Events and Summer time in Switzerland

It finally seems that summer is here! At least with the sun shining we can all start to enjoy the outdoors and get the BBQ going. It has been a great start to the summer for Allow Me with a few wine tours and organizing parties for clients.

Last week we organized a successful 30^th birthday party for a client at Badi Enge. Allow Me was lucky enough to be invited by a member last week on The Club GT Super Car Tour across Europe. We could only join for 1 day of driving but what an amazing day we had! We drove out of Germany and across into Austria to Sölden and over the Stelvio Pass in Italy driving on a road many regard as one of the best in Europe. Then we crossed out of Italy into Switzerland and stayed in the 5* Grand Hotel Kronefhof just outside St. Moritz. Departing from the main station, the SZU takes you all the way up Zurich’s backyard mountain, the Uetliberg. At the top you will be able to enjoy views that span way past Zurich. A planet-themed trail takes you over to the Felsenegg, from where you can take the cable car down to Adliswil (and return to Zurich on the train). You can also take one of the many hiking trails to the top but be warned, some sections can be quite steep and watch out for the mountain bikers…

BADI TIME!

First Annual Member’s Ski Day

Everyone else had skied off……

Allow Me had great pleasure organizing our very first Member’s ski day last Friday. With such great snow conditions and perfect blue skies it was a day everyone was looking forward to. I decided to go to Flims/Laax which is an ideal distance for a day trip from Zurich. The drive takes a little over and hour and a half and you get some breath-taking views along the way.

Upon arrival at Flims the slopes were nice and quiet and we set out to explore the mountain. Not only did we find run after run of fresh powder but the sun was shining and there were no queues. Flims/Laax is a huge ski area and there are so many hidden routes to explore. For the more serious freestyle skiers/snowboarders Laax boasts one of the best freestyle parks in Europe and you will be spoilt for choice. You have everything from the beginner park/pipe right up to the world’s biggest pipe and an amazing pro kicker/rail line. As we were powder hounds we left the parks alone and set out exploring the mountain.

Cassons was one area that we really wanted to ride as it’s famous for its long powder field and it’s very easy to access by cable car but due to dangerous avalanche conditions it was closed, however we found some great powder fields at La Siala then looping down to Grauberg. After a morning filled with thrills and spills we had lunch at possibly the best mountain restaurant I have ever been to, Ustria Startgels. They have an open fire kitchen for roasting meat, incredible homemade pasta and very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They are also open in the summer and I cannot recommend visiting enough. On weekends and busy days it’s always best to make a booking (which naturally, AllowMe can help you with!).

The afternoon was spent exploring the runs – we headed over to Crap Sogn Gion and were blown away by how big the area was. So if you’re stuck for something to do during the week or weekend we suggest you head over to Flims/Laax.
